Yikes!

Well, less than a week to go now.  My head is spinning.  So much to do.  Last parties, dinners, coffee breaks...  Thanks to everyone who came to my going-away party and naked lady party.  I posted pics on Picasa and will try to post a few here, too.  I leave Tuesday morning and hope to see some friends at the Bye & Bye (NE 11th and Alberta) on Monday night.  Everyone is invited!  Stop by to say b-bye!  Gotta go pack now, and then send Karinna off to Vietnam tonight!  Wow!  

Three weeks to go!

I'm moving to Fukuoka three weeks from tomorrow and am overwhelmed by how much stuff I have to do before my departure!  Having fun with my friends in Portland is, of course, at the top of my list, but more "important" things like requesting my absentee ballot and notifying my mortgage banker that I'm leaving the country keep nagging at me.  I've never had a blog before and am putting off all those other things I'm supposed to be doing so that I can write this first post.  Future posting should be far more fascinating, as I embark on this highly anticipated adventure!  I'll be teaching at Fukuoka International School in southern Japan for the next two years, leaving behind my beloved Portland, Oregon, loads of fantastic friends, and a stresssful job for a new life on the other side of the world!
