Hanami Wednesday

On Wednesday this week there was a crazy storm that threatened to tear every last cherry blossom from the branch.  Inside my apartment, unaware of the weather situation outside, I wondered what the strange flash of light was, followed by an even stranger rolling roar that I eventually identified as thunder.  Outside a downpour made me feel less bad about not going out to another park earlier in the evening, where I'd certainly have been caught in the monsoon.  The thunderstorm continued for the next hour or so and I lamented the end of hanami season, fearing I'd seen my last cherry blossom for 2009.  Or had I....
